Background and Aim: The liver disease is serious health problem India. Hepatic encephalopathy (HE) common complication of cirrhosis. There paucity data on clinical profile, precipitating factors, prognosis HE in We aimed to study the outcomes patients with hepatic chronic disease. Methods: 100 admitted referral hospital overt was enrolled this study. All were followed up for one year after enrolment. Results: mean age 46.22 ±10.97 (18 78 years) male female ratio 8: 2. Most had child C cirrhosis (78) a CTP score 11.31±2.09 MELD 23.67±8.42. grade II (62) by III (32) IV (6). On univariate analysis, ammonia, WBC, Neutrophil, INR, urea, creatinine, bilirubin, SGOT, differs significantly between survivors non (P<0.05). multivariate analysis only raised serum bilirubin independently associated (P value<0.036, OR: 1.126, 95% CI :1.007-1.258).60.76% recurrent episode within year. Conclusion: Development worse outcome Serum increased Cirrhosis.
